7/10 Vocabulary - Tales of the city

Etch – [VERB] to cut a pattern, picture, etc. into a smooth surface, especially on metal or glass, using acid or sometimes a sharp instrument

Groundbreaking – [ADJ] new and likely to have an effect on how things are done in the future

Naive – [ADJ] too willing to believe that someone is telling the truth, that people's intentions in general are good, or that life is simple and fair

Gal – [NOUN] (informal or humorous) a woman or girl

Metropolis – [NOUN] a very large city, often the most important city in a large area or country

Landlord –[NOUN] a person who rents a room, building, or piece of land to someone

Bisexual –[NOUN] sexually attracted to both men and women

Boundary –[NOUN] the real or imaginary line that marks the edge of a state, country etc, or the edge of an area of land that belongs to someone

Ancillary –[ADJ] connected with or supporting something else, but less important than it

Entangle –[VERB]
1)to make something become twisted and caught in a rope, net etc
2)to involve someone in an argument, a relationship, or a situation that is difficult to escape from
